Your Good Past Can Hinder Your Future

by Admin

Most of us know that we should not allow our past to dictate our future, especially all the things we would like to forget. Many have suffered tragedy, trauma and much drama and have a hard time breaking forth to accomplish future goals. Then, there are many who have had great accomplishments in their past and have decided to rest on their laurels. This is dangerous! Life’s not over until God says so. No matter how many trophies, plaques, certificates or degrees you’ve obtained, know that to whom much is given, much will also be required. We are encouraged to forget the things that are behind, good and bad and reach forward to the things that are ahead. Press toward the mark of the prize of the upward call in Christ Jesus. Your latter days shall exceed your former. While some think they have arrived like the man in the gospels who decided his barns were full, now he can eat, drink and be merry, not knowing of the impending circumstances awaiting him. One gentleman scored 30 points one night for his high school basketball team. However, he never got over it and at the age of sixty he still gloats about that one night, while unemployed, living in a project home, suffering the ills of society. It was a good testimony of an event in the past, but to park there was the hindrance to the future.  Allow your victories and triumphs to be stepping-stones to greater exploits. It is an indication that God has blessed you with more than enough gifts, skills and talents to win in this wonderful life. Never stop! Keep pressing! Even your “good” past can hinder your future, if  you let it………………peace

The Subject of Confrontations

by Admin

Have you ever had to confront and friend, co-worker or family member? Oftentimes due to fear of having a shady relationship, people just let the offense go. No, we don’t have to confront people on everything that doesn’t seem right to us, but one cannot live this life letting everybody disrespect them either. This is where confrontation is necessary. First think on whether it is worth it. How long will you have to be around this person? Will they affect your world negatively if you don’t “check” them right now? Is it an authority figure in your life? Oppression is not of God. You need boldness with a little tact. Out of love, honor and respect, let the individual know how you feel about what took place. Make sure your emotions are settled before you confront. We’ll never have peace in this world if we don’t confront attitudes, mistakes, disrespect or even “low life” thinkers. If your standards are higher, raise the people up around you. Never condescend or compromise your integrity for some uninformed, stupid, ignorant, proud and disrespectful person. The bible says, let those who are ignorant, remain ignorant. But if their ignorance is in your space and affecting your personal life, it must be confronted. We must balance the scriptures out. The word also says that if you see your brother at fault and don’t warn him, the blood will be required at your hand. In other words, your loved one or co-worker might be headed for a big fall and God wants to use you to show them a better way.  On the other hand, if people confront you regarding a matter, thank them. That is the only way clarity will manifest over a possible misunderstanding. At least you’ll have an opportunity to share what you really meant. Confront people in love and you’ll never lose. God has your back…………….peace

His Name is Jealous, Put Nothing Before Him

by Admin

Have you ever lost something of great value? Sometimes it’s because God allowed the enemy to take it. Exodus 34:14 tells us that God’s name is Jealous. He is a jealous God and has every right in the world to be. He created everything and also mankind for His good pleasure. He gave us the commandments saying to have no other gods before Me. Yet people get attached to their valuables, their delights, their most prized possessions and live as if they forgot where their blessings come from. If God created us for fellowship and His good pleasure, we should never neglect our time with Him. We should never allow anything to distract us to such a point where days, weeks, months have passed and we haven’t even acknowledged Him. He’s jealous when we spend more time on our hobbies, than with Him. He’s jealous when we forsake worship services because our recreational activity is more important. Remember when malls, businesses, little league sports and nearly the whole town was shut down simply because it was Sunday? When people begin worshipping the creature instead of the Creator there are consequences. By this, we frustrate God and walk out from under our protective covering. We make ourselves vulnerable to Satanic attacks on our money, health, materials and even children. God will protect you and your belongings, but He will also bring judgment to whom He wills and let the repercussions happen. Never let anything be more important to you than your relationship with the Almighty God. His name is Jealous, Put nothing before Him.

How To Pray

by Admin

Prayer is a form of communication to God. There are several types of prayer. The prayer of intercession, supplications, requests, thanksgiving, praise, worship, and praying in the spirit. The prayer that is most desired to learn is supplications and requests. Let’s talk about it. First one must understand that according Jeremiah 1:12, God watches His word to perform it. This implies you must pray according to His word, which is also His will. 1John 5:14 says that “if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us, and if He hears us we have the petition granted”. So in brief, find verses that pertain to your situation and make your request known to God because He watches His word to perform it. If it is in His will, you can rest assure that He wants to deliver. The next aspect on your part is faith. Without faith it is impossible please God. After knowing that your request is in His will, believe you receive it and you will have it. That’s faith. Don’t go away hoping or wondering if He’s coming through, know that you have it. Even if the mortgage lender, the auto dealer, the pocket book, the doctor’s diagnosis all says no, don’t be moved. That’s faith. Faith is not dictated by carnal senses. Faith is setting yourself in agreement with God’s word and nothing else. If you believe you received your petition, keep thanking God until it manifest.

Was That The Anointing Or Just Man?

by Admin

Many of our churches today are so steeped in the traditions of old, that they’ve settled and excused hooping, hollering, music assisted preaching for the anointing. Not all but many! I’ve sat through services by invitation to anniversaries or attended funerals and observed several attendants standing up, cheering the minister on when it was only entertainment. It could’ve been inspiration for some but even inspiration is of no use when you need a word for instruction at a crossroad. When a song, a sermon or a speaker or singer is anointed, it ministers to your spirit. It destroys yokes and removes burdens. It preserves you for the long haul. The anointing will bring about conviction when a word is spoken regarding error in your life. The anointing makes your ears and heart attentive to what God is doing. The anointing leaves a lasting impression. When a service is truly anointed by the spirit of God, sometimes the people are under holy ghost arrest and can’t even go to sleep. It’s the anointing that opens spiritual eyes to see and spiritual ears to hear. On the other hand when it’s just man, nothing happens. That man is doing all the work and wearing himself/herself out. When it’s man, he has to think. When it’s the anointing, you don’t even have to think. You’re in a zone and the spirit of God is prompting and feeding you. It was sad sitting for three hours, watching all the dynamics take place. The people were spent and nothing happened. They might as well had gone to the gym and worked out. Know the difference! The anointing is the manifested presence of God.

Who Said You Can’t Legislate Faith?

by Admin

Who said you can’t legislate faith? Then what does a nation’s founders base their constitutions on? Every principle we live by is in accordance to what we believe. Go to a predominately Muslim nation and try to oppose their faith and see what will happen. Our great nation, the United States of America, was founded on Christian principles. A plethora of references were made toward the canon of scripture (the holy bible) as our constitution was being formed. The problem with our nation today is that we’ve veered away from kingdom influence and have allowed the dictates of the flesh and secular humanism to dominate the thoughts of our public. We took the reading of the bible out of the schools. That’s one reason our children don’t have the same respect or convictions that were prevalent in the 50’s and beyond. Remember when there was such an uproar when Rhett Butler, played by Clark Gable said, “ frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn”? That was because the moral fabric was under attack by using what was termed profane and inappropriate for display on the big screen. Turn on the television today, even during prime, family time, you’ll see and hear everything ungodly under the sun. We took God out of the picture. We need to live by the faith wherewith this country was legislated. Christianity. When our leaders begin approving of same sex marriage we’re in trouble. Remember Sodom and Gomorrah? Even some ministers of the gospel have been so desensitized that they are ok with it as well. Our schools hardly ever say the pledge of allegiance anymore before class. No wonder there’s no loyalty or respect for our country by many youth today. Why would there be litigation regarding prayer at commencement exercises in our high schools and universities? Shouldn’t the students and faculty want a prayerful covering as they venture into new domains of life? Since we took God out of our government in general in the early 60’s, we’ve seen the high school dropout rate increase. We’ve seen teenage pregnancy increase. Abortion is skyrocketing yearly to nearly or over 3 million babies annually. Crime and murder is the norm on our evening news channels. This is what happens when a country denies and neglects the faith it was founded by. The reason for any of the positive numbers today in the aforementioned ills are due to some true believers, some great nonprofit organizations and a few real ministers and parents who either homeschooled or are diligent in the rearing of their children. It sure isn’t because of anything our government officials are mandating for change. Who said you can’t legislate faith? Non-belief is a faith. Evolution is a faith. The various religious beliefs are faiths. Homosexuality, fornication, adultery, profanity, robbery, senseless murder, gangster rap lyrics, death metal, pornography, incest, disobedience to parents, even stupidity is a faith. It’s all done contingent on what they believe. America needs to get back to its core faith, Christianity. Who said you can’t legislate faith? What the heck do we live by then? Help us Jesus!

Already Forgiven

by Admin

After you’ve been born again your sins are forgiven, past, present and future. 1John 1:9 says, “that if we confess our sins He’s faithful and just to cleanse us of all unrighteousness”. This confession is for your salvation. That’s why verse 10 says if we say we have not sinned we lie and make God out to be a liar.  The law was given to prove that we were sinners and needed a savior. It was a tutor to bring us to Christ. All have sinned and will continue missing the bull’s eye in this life. Often believers think they have to confess in order to have their sins forgiven, but God has already forgiven you by way of the blood of Jesus. Question! What if he doesn’t forgive you of a sin you confessed? You’ll go to hell. What if you forget to confess one or didn’t know that anything apart from faith is sin? You’ll go to hell. If we read 1John 2:1 it says, I write that you don’t sin, but if we do sin, we have an advocate, Jesus the Christ. He already paid for it in full. Thank God for Jesus. He didn’t come into the world to condemn us but that through Him we might be saved. If our future sins are not forgiven, Jesus will have to come back and hang on that cross all over again. Thank God we are forgiven forever and our sins removed as far as the east is from the west and He would remember our lawless deeds no more. Don’t be in bondage or under any condemnation. Forgive yourself first of all the issues the devil wants to try to remind you of. Then know that God has already forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32 says, “be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.’ It’s good and ok to apologize or acknowledge your mishaps to God. But never think that your confession is what gets your sins forgiven. He already forgave you through Christ. What a wonderful life. How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? I thank God, I’m Already Forgiven.

Faith To Walk In Perfect Health

by Admin

So many Christians come to God out of desperation for healing. They wait until they’ve exhausted all doctors, remedies and resources. The suffering, pain and discomfort is now unbearable so, not in faith but out of desperation they hope God can deliver them. He can! No problem. Sometimes through laying on of hands, or working of miracles or gifts of healing by the spirit of God, one can receive a manifestation of healing. But that way often is analogous to driving a car for years and having never maintenanced it. It would be understandable as to why the axle broke, it sputtered constantly, it overheated, it wouldn’t go into reverse and the head gasket blew. It’s a great thing to be healed, but even better to walk in divine health. You have to know and declare daily that your body is the tabernacle of the living God. Any germs, sickness, virus or disease that touches your body must instantly die because you are covered by the blood of Jesus. You can’t say this one time only. This has to be a daily confession and standard procedure from your mind and heart. You must declare that you have been redeemed from the curse of sickness and by Jesus’ stripes you are healed. Agree with Matthew 8:17 in that, “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses” and God sent His word and healed us. You must bind up sickness as soon as you see any resemblance of an attack on your body, in Jesus’ name. Tell the devil, he lost because of the blood of Jesus. Daily give God praise for He is Jehovah Rapha, the God that healeth thee. Never say, “I’m sick or I’m catching something or I got cancer, MS, the flu, asthma, leukemia or anything else”. Those are only the doctors’ diagnosis, not God’s. God said you’re healed. This is how you apply faith to walk in perfect health.

You Can Live Until You’re Satisfied

by Admin

Psalms 90: 10 says, “the days of our lives are three score (20 x 3) and ten, equaling 70 years and if by strength 80”. Psalms 91:16 says, “with long life I will satisfy you and show you My salvation’. Which one is right? Am I only expected to live to be 70 or 80? Or can I decide when I’m ready to leave this earth? Moses wrote the 90th Psalm, David wrote the 91st. Moses’ reference was to the children of Israel. Only those who were under 20 years of age when God declared judgment on the older ones would enter the Promised Land. So, if you were 30 years old when your wilderness experience began’, and they remained in the wilderness for 40 years, how old will you be? Answer, 70. If you started at 40 years of age you would end up at 80. That’s why Moses stated that. So many have taken the scripture out of context and cursed their length of days. David says that if you dwell in the secret place, remain in the presence of God and live a life circumspect (paraphrasing) before God, you will live a long life and be satisfied.

Yes, the body will get old and wear out as a result of the sin in the world, but we don’t have to die from diseases, violence or various disorders. If we live and walk by faith, honoring God’s word through daily application, we can determine when we want to leave. But “what if’’, what if”? Well let’s establish this, “the secret things belong to God”, yet we can determine our length of days. Don’t listen to the rhetoric about what your parents died from or what’s in your family bloodline. We’ve been redeemed from the family curses and the curse of the law. Have faith in God’s word concerning these matters and don’t be deceived into thinking you have inherited the same sickness. Jesus said, ‘when the Son of Man returns will He find faith on the earth”? if God’s people would only learn to truly walk by faith. Determine when you will be satisfied and begin decreeing God’s word daily over your life. You Can Live Until You’re Satisfied.

What’s A Seeker Friendly Church?

by Admin

What is a ‘seeker friendly’ church? A seeker friendly church is a Christian fellowship where anybody, living any kind of lifestyle can come regularly and never hear the correctional or reproving aspect of God’s word. As a result of having never heard, the parishioner does not have convictions about any sins that might be prevalent or obvious in their life. The word of God is a two edged sword, it cuts in righteousness and judgment. The word was written for reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness. The Holy Spirit is exactly who He is. The adjective describes the noun. He is the ‘HOLY SPIRIT’. This is not His name. It’s who He is. He’s Holy! If a church never addresses the sin and consequences of same sex marriage, homosexuality, adultery, fornication, gossip, lying, verbal, physical or sexual abuse and many other workings of the flesh, that is a “seeker friendly’ church. They are either afraid to lose members, offend people, or they just want everybody to like them. Ezekiel says, “ if you find a brother at fault and not warn him, the blood of that person will be required at your hands”. Ministers cannot afford to compromise the word for the sake of making people comfortable in church. If they are truly operating in love, they will tell the whole truth. To tell the truth in love is not being legalistic or pharisaic, it is a gesture of God’s love in that He would that none perish but all would come to repentance. True believers are set apart for sacred use, not for the perpetuation of sin. Be careful of this great deception that is creeping into the church. When your ministry gift only encourages you and tells you how great you are, and gives nothing but motivational messages, look out, danger is approaching. The dinner plate should not consist of desserts only, we must balance our diet with vegetables as well.

Jesus, The Apex of The Marital Wedge

by Admin

Draw a pyramid; place Jesus at the top, you on the left side bottom and your spouse on the right side bottom. Notice there is much distance between you and your spouse at the bottom. In a Christian marriage, Jesus is the central focal point. The husband’s plight in life should be a pursuit after Christ. The wife’s goal is to pursue Him as well. If they both go after Him before anything else, they will become closer and more at one as they reach their goal, which is the image and likeness of Christ. If the man’s purpose and pursuit is money, companionship or sex and yet she pursues Christ, they will not narrow the gap. If her focus is just having a man, or having more money or companionship, yet his pursuit is Christ, they will not accomplish the ideal benefits and blessing of a Christian marriage. Money is not always guaranteed, nor is sex or companionship, but Jesus will always be there. If they both go after Him, making it a daily priority and a determination to live by His word, they will experience holy matrimony in the way our Divine Designer intended it to be. Marriage is the most highly honored institution there is, in the sight of God. Oh, sorry I have to qualify this. I’m only referring to marriage between a man and a woman. It’s a wonderful life……..peace

Not In Love Anymore?

by Admin

They were once so in love. They committed to each other for the rest of their lives. A few years passed and now one of them drops the bomb and says, ‘I’m not in love with you anymore”. How did it get to this point? As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. The vows were exactly what they were. You vowed to love, honor and cherish til’ death do you part. But along the journey you allowed thoughts of dislike, hurt and mistreatment to bombard your emotions. You gave in to imaginations and arguments of how much you despise this person now and asked, “Why didn’t I see this before I committed”. The answer is, you quit working at loving and caring. It only takes a moment to fall in love, but to remain in love, it requires a steady determination. We often let the novelty wear off and get use to our mate and get distracted from the moments of loving, caressing, caring and constant communication. If you’re not in love anymore, stir yourself up, call your mate to the table and say, let’s make this work”. Love is a choice. Choose to love your mate and not allow those ugly thoughts to preoccupy your mind. If you can’t get back in love, you never loved the person unconditionally. Say a prayer together, it works. Now work it!

Siphoning Everything Through Your Mess

by Admin

Have you ever talked to someone and knew that you were absolutely clear with your wording and yet they didn’t get it? You probably left saying, “my goodness, what’s wrong with him/her, it’s like pulling teeth trying to get them to understand”! I call it “siphoning through mess”. They siphon everything through the mess they’ve endured in life. They often cannot understand because they look at everything through their hurts, pains, disappointments and shortfalls. For example, a reference was made to many Christians who need healing but really just have an overeating habit and a bad diet. One individual was offended because she said her dad used to always call her fat. Because of her past, she was never objective to the subject of obesity, is always offended when the reference is made, so she could never receive and be corrected. She siphons it all through her past. Another person could not receive a prophecy or a word of wisdom in a church service without feeling singled out and picked on. How ridiculous! Who wouldn’t want to hear a word from God by the gifts of the spirit pertaining to their future? This individual has always been insecure, which makes the most defensive person. They listen with the thought of you trying to criticize them, although your motive is only to help. It’s called siphoning through mess. Let God heal your past. Leave it behind. Some people really love you but you make it hard for them to talk to you. The devil is the enemy. Your brother, sister or friend are for you.

Obama’s Statement and Desensitized Christians

by Admin

President Obama, a Christian, recently had an opportunity to denounce same sex marriage from his global pulpit, but he compromised. The word of God says not to cause the weaker believers or babies to stumble. Sin is a reproach to any nation. While Christians are praying for our nation, our president’s position perpetuated further abominations. But that’s not the worst issue. Many believers are so desensitized or infatuated that they excuse and justify a leader’s erroneous stance. You can’t justify a wrong.

When a believer is lead by preference rather than convictions, failure is inevitable because obedience is better than sacrifice. The evil one (satan) is subliminally desensitizing hearts and minds by the constant advertisements and televising of sexual seduction during prime time. The ongoing promoting of homosexual lifestyles on radio, television and Internet, not to mention such profane language used all over the airways. Desensitization comes through constant violence through media sources and sooner or later it has become more acceptable. Christians cannot allow themselves to be deceived and so easily accepting of the promotion of sin and abominations. It doesn’t matter who says or does it. Sin is sin! Wrong is wrong! If you are a Christian athlete, politician, businessman or artist, you can’t separate your faith from your occupation. We serve God 24/7.

Guilt Trips, Don’t Receive Them

by Admin

If you’re wrong, you’re wrong. But if you feel justified in what you said or the decision you made, don’t trip. Don’t let the devil try to condemn you because you settled. A couple drove up to my church’s parking lot one evening and asked for help putting gas in their “U-Haul” truck. They said, they miscalculated how much they needed for their journey and for some reason they had no cash, nor will their ATM card work. As much as I really want to help people, for I help people all the time with money, gas, food, etc. It had been a long challenging day and I was tired and headed straight home. I pondered and felt sympathetic towards them, but said, “I can’t do anything, I’m sorry”. They persisted, “but sir, all we need is a little gas and here’s my drivers license”. I said, “ it’s not a matter of trust, I get people asking for help all the time”. Then the guy abruptly cut me off and said, “it is trust, that’s why you said that”, then told his friend to go as he says something driving off. I stood there and thought to myself he thinks I lied. He didn’t let me tell him for a second time, no, and give my reason. I was just tired and didn’t want to be inconvenienced. On the way home, the devil tried his best to bother me with condemning thoughts for not helping. He used scriptures such as, “ for what you’ve done to the least of them, you’ve done it to Jesus”. But I thank God  there is no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus. I’m glad I know that Jesus came into the world not to condemn, but to save. Thank God we have verses that instruct us to cast down imaginations and arguments that exalt themselves against the word of God. This is a word to anyone who has an ear to hear. Never be condemned about things like this if you simply were not feeling it. Maybe God knew the people were not right anyway. Guilt trips, don’t receive them.
