After you’ve been born again your sins are forgiven, past, present and future. 1John 1:9 says, “that if we confess our sins He’s faithful and just to cleanse us of all unrighteousness”. This confession is for your salvation. That’s why verse 10 says if we say we have not sinned we lie and make God out to be a liar. The law was given to prove that we were sinners and needed a savior. It was a tutor to bring us to Christ. All have sinned and will continue missing the bull’s eye in this life. Often believers think they have to confess in order to have their sins forgiven, but God has already forgiven you by way of the blood of Jesus. Question! What if he doesn’t forgive you of a sin you confessed? You’ll go to hell. What if you forget to confess one or didn’t know that anything apart from faith is sin? You’ll go to hell. If we read 1John 2:1 it says, I write that you don’t sin, but if we do sin, we have an advocate, Jesus the Christ. He already paid for it in full. Thank God for Jesus. He didn’t come into the world to condemn us but that through Him we might be saved. If our future sins are not forgiven, Jesus will have to come back and hang on that cross all over again. Thank God we are forgiven forever and our sins removed as far as the east is from the west and He would remember our lawless deeds no more. Don’t be in bondage or under any condemnation. Forgive yourself first of all the issues the devil wants to try to remind you of. Then know that God has already forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32 says, “be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.’ It’s good and ok to apologize or acknowledge your mishaps to God. But never think that your confession is what gets your sins forgiven. He already forgave you through Christ. What a wonderful life. How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? I thank God, I’m Already Forgiven.
