You Must Apply The Word

by Admin

(Transcript generated by speechpad.com)

You must apply the Word. Somebody else, another Christian couple’s
breaking up, and sister girl says, “Pastor, my husband knows a whole lot of
Scripture. He’s always quoting the Word.” And I hear it often where a
brother says, “My wife’s quoting the Word, and I don’t know why we can’t
make it.” Well, you’ve got to apply the Word. You must apply the Word.
Even a parrot can quote Scripture. You can just play it and a parrot can
hear it and hear it, or you can put a Memorex on for that matter. Anyone
can memorize Scripture, but that doesn’t help if you don’t apply the Word.
The application of the Word is what has to happen, so faith without works
is dead. You must apply the Word. So you can quote all the Scripture from
Genesis to the Revelation.

As a matter of fact, there are eight men in the Bible who can quote the
Word of God verbatim, but only one out of those eight men are saved. Why?
Because quoting it doesn’t mean anything. It makes you play the memory
game. You memorize. Some people pray, and they just spit out word after
word, Scripture after Scripture, and think they really did something. And
all they did was just scream and holler. They talked at God. They didn’t
talk to God. They weren’t making supplications and requests. They were
just speaking out a whole bunch of Scripture. That doesn’t add up to
anything. When people come to you and it seems like they’ve got a whole
lot of knowledge about the Word of God, just look at their life. Look at
their life, because that’s the determining factor as to whether they’re
really applying the Word.

They can quote all this Scripture and they’re broke. They quote all this
Scripture and they stay sick. They quote all this Scripture and we get all
gifts and so forth. Divorcing and carrying them. Quoting the Word,
teaching the Word, but come on, where’s the application of it? That’s
what’s so important. You’ve got to apply the Word to your life, because
somebody’s not applying the Word. You must apply the Word in order for it
to work. You can quote it, you can teach it, you can sing it, you can
preach it, but if you’re not applying it, it’s not going to work for you.
You have to apply the Word of God.

Jesus, The Apex of The Marital Wedge

by Admin

Draw a pyramid; place Jesus at the top, you on the left side bottom and your spouse on the right side bottom. Notice there is much distance between you and your spouse at the bottom. In a Christian marriage, Jesus is the central focal point. The husband’s plight in life should be a pursuit after Christ. The wife’s goal is to pursue Him as well. If they both go after Him before anything else, they will become closer and more at one as they reach their goal, which is the image and likeness of Christ. If the man’s purpose and pursuit is money, companionship or sex and yet she pursues Christ, they will not narrow the gap. If her focus is just having a man, or having more money or companionship, yet his pursuit is Christ, they will not accomplish the ideal benefits and blessing of a Christian marriage. Money is not always guaranteed, nor is sex or companionship, but Jesus will always be there. If they both go after Him, making it a daily priority and a determination to live by His word, they will experience holy matrimony in the way our Divine Designer intended it to be. Marriage is the most highly honored institution there is, in the sight of God. Oh, sorry I have to qualify this. I’m only referring to marriage between a man and a woman. It’s a wonderful life……..peace

Are You Really Saved?

by Admin

Transcript:

Are you really saved? Now that’s the question. Are you really saved? Now
some people walk down the aisle, they shook the preacher’s hand, or they
joined the church or they got water baptized and they just thought that was
all there was to it, but are you really saved? Did you really give your
heart to God? Did you really make him Lord over your life? I know you might
have confessed, Romans chapter 10 verse 9, you confess with your mouth, the
Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead
you shall be saved, and that’s good. But are you really saved? Did you
really give your life to him? Is he really Lord or is money Lord? The way
you feel Lord? Is time Lord? Because sometimes people say “well I don’t
feel like it, or I’ve got to do this because the motivation here is money
and not the will of God, or I just don’t have the time.”

Anything that supersedes God, those things might be the lord, God or master
over your life, and not Jesus Lord himself. You see that’s why I’m asking
now, are you really saved? Because Matthew 7:21 says that not everyone who
says to me Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven. But them that do
the will of my father. He said on that day many will come saying Lord did I
not prophesize in your name? You can prophesize, you can be in church, you
can sing in the choir and do a song and dance, take the Holy Communion and
everything else, and you still might miss it. Because they praise him with
their mouth and honor him with their lips but their hearts are far from
him. So the question is, are you really saved? Did you really give your
life to him? Is he the one the dictates your every move? Are you casting
down imaginations and arguments? Are you being obedient to the word of God,
and the will of God? Do you really trust God with your life or do you just
God for Cadillacs, Mercedes and Gucci bags and all these fancy clothes and
all these St. John’s and stuff you’re wearing today and your bling, bling?
Are you trusting God with your life?

No matter how you have to live, no matter what it looks like, are you
trusting God with your life? It’s like Lord whatever you want to do with
me, have me, have your way, let your will be done. However I have to live,
wherever I have to go, doesn’t matter. Lord God whatever I have to drive, I
trust you with my life. See that’s when God really has your heart. He’s
first in your life when he really has your heart. When you really give your
life to him you won’t be in that category, in Matthew chapter 7 I was
quoting, many will say did I not prophesize, and have chicken dinners and
french fries and car washes? I’m just paraphrasing. Did we not do all these
things in your name? But he said, but I will say to you on that day, did
part from me you worked yourself iniquity, I never knew you. You never had
an intimate personal relationship with me. That’s what I’m talking about.
So are you really saved? Are you really saved?

Not In Love Anymore?

by Admin

They were once so in love. They committed to each other for the rest of their lives. A few years passed and now one of them drops the bomb and says, ‘I’m not in love with you anymore”. How did it get to this point? As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. The vows were exactly what they were. You vowed to love, honor and cherish til’ death do you part. But along the journey you allowed thoughts of dislike, hurt and mistreatment to bombard your emotions. You gave in to imaginations and arguments of how much you despise this person now and asked, “Why didn’t I see this before I committed”. The answer is, you quit working at loving and caring. It only takes a moment to fall in love, but to remain in love, it requires a steady determination. We often let the novelty wear off and get use to our mate and get distracted from the moments of loving, caressing, caring and constant communication. If you’re not in love anymore, stir yourself up, call your mate to the table and say, let’s make this work”. Love is a choice. Choose to love your mate and not allow those ugly thoughts to preoccupy your mind. If you can’t get back in love, you never loved the person unconditionally. Say a prayer together, it works. Now work it!

Siphoning Everything Through Your Mess

by Admin

Have you ever talked to someone and knew that you were absolutely clear with your wording and yet they didn’t get it? You probably left saying, “my goodness, what’s wrong with him/her, it’s like pulling teeth trying to get them to understand”! I call it “siphoning through mess”. They siphon everything through the mess they’ve endured in life. They often cannot understand because they look at everything through their hurts, pains, disappointments and shortfalls. For example, a reference was made to many Christians who need healing but really just have an overeating habit and a bad diet. One individual was offended because she said her dad used to always call her fat. Because of her past, she was never objective to the subject of obesity, is always offended when the reference is made, so she could never receive and be corrected. She siphons it all through her past. Another person could not receive a prophecy or a word of wisdom in a church service without feeling singled out and picked on. How ridiculous! Who wouldn’t want to hear a word from God by the gifts of the spirit pertaining to their future? This individual has always been insecure, which makes the most defensive person. They listen with the thought of you trying to criticize them, although your motive is only to help. It’s called siphoning through mess. Let God heal your past. Leave it behind. Some people really love you but you make it hard for them to talk to you. The devil is the enemy. Your brother, sister or friend are for you.

Obama’s Statement and Desensitized Christians

by Admin

President Obama, a Christian, recently had an opportunity to denounce same sex marriage from his global pulpit, but he compromised. The word of God says not to cause the weaker believers or babies to stumble. Sin is a reproach to any nation. While Christians are praying for our nation, our president’s position perpetuated further abominations. But that’s not the worst issue. Many believers are so desensitized or infatuated that they excuse and justify a leader’s erroneous stance. You can’t justify a wrong.

When a believer is lead by preference rather than convictions, failure is inevitable because obedience is better than sacrifice. The evil one (satan) is subliminally desensitizing hearts and minds by the constant advertisements and televising of sexual seduction during prime time. The ongoing promoting of homosexual lifestyles on radio, television and Internet, not to mention such profane language used all over the airways. Desensitization comes through constant violence through media sources and sooner or later it has become more acceptable. Christians cannot allow themselves to be deceived and so easily accepting of the promotion of sin and abominations. It doesn’t matter who says or does it. Sin is sin! Wrong is wrong! If you are a Christian athlete, politician, businessman or artist, you can’t separate your faith from your occupation. We serve God 24/7.

The Word of Faith Does Work

by Admin

Transcript:

Word of faith does work. We went through those charismatic revivals of the
70’s and we seen a lot of, the word of faith being propagated back then.
There was a whole lot of, well you can call it a movement if you want to,
but it was a new revelation. People were beginning to understand what the
scripture was pertaining to, when we talk about the word of faith. A lot
of people, I cut my teeth on the word of faith in the 80’s and it was a
hard time coming through, where they were knocking those who name it and
claim it, gab it, grab it, confess it, possess it. But I’m here to tell you
it’s been working now for quite some time for everybody who’s ever tried
it.

Romans 10:8 said it’s the word of faith which we preach, and then that’s
the same way you get saved is the same way you must live. The things you
confess with your mouth, you believe it in your heart, because you have
what you say. A lot of people say they have a cold, they’ve got the flu,
they are sick, or it’s flu season, or it’s allergy season, you have what
you say. See that’s not faith right there, well that’s not faith in God’s
word. Because when you have faith in God’s word you call things that be not
as though they were, and that’s the word of faith. That proverbs chapter
18 tells us that the, it says that man’s appetite is satisfied by the fruit
of his mouth, and with the increase of his lips he is filled, for the power
of life and death is in the tongue. Yes, you have what you say and you are
snared by the words of your mouth.

So I’m here to tell you the word of faith does work and a lot of people
have nothing and try to put it down, and talk about that naming, claiming,
and gab it, grab it bunch. But that name it, claim it, gab it, grab it
bunch are walking in divine help, they are prospering like never before.
And all those who gravitate towards the word of faith, they can see that it
is working in their life. Because you do have what you say, and so you got,
the things you say you’ve got to believe you receive and you shall have it.
Whenever you pray for something, believe you’ll receive it, and don’t go
back saying what the doctor said, doctors say I have this, and the doctors
say I have that, all you can say is, well, the doctors have diagnosed me as
having but I’m not going around telling everybody I’m sick, or I’ve got
anything.

This is how the word of faith works. So they might have diagnosed you of
having cancer or leukemia, or something, however, you say by Jesus Christ I
am healed. It doesn’t matter whether you is. You might sneeze in the
spring time and somebody says, you’re allergies are acting up, you don’t go
and agree with that, you just say no, I’m catching a healing right now, for
he himself took my sickness and boar my infirmities. See the word of
faith works like this, what God said, we believe it. Nowhere in the bible
did God say you’re sick, nowhere in the bible did God say there’s a flu
season, or allergy season, nowhere in the bible. The word of faith works.
So declare you are prosperous, declare you are protected, declare you have
the mind of Christ, and declare you’re not, all these great things. Just
declare the promises of God, and that’s the word of faith, and the word of
faith does work.

Guilt Trips, Don’t Receive Them

by Admin

If you’re wrong, you’re wrong. But if you feel justified in what you said or the decision you made, don’t trip. Don’t let the devil try to condemn you because you settled. A couple drove up to my church’s parking lot one evening and asked for help putting gas in their “U-Haul” truck. They said, they miscalculated how much they needed for their journey and for some reason they had no cash, nor will their ATM card work. As much as I really want to help people, for I help people all the time with money, gas, food, etc. It had been a long challenging day and I was tired and headed straight home. I pondered and felt sympathetic towards them, but said, “I can’t do anything, I’m sorry”. They persisted, “but sir, all we need is a little gas and here’s my drivers license”. I said, “ it’s not a matter of trust, I get people asking for help all the time”. Then the guy abruptly cut me off and said, “it is trust, that’s why you said that”, then told his friend to go as he says something driving off. I stood there and thought to myself he thinks I lied. He didn’t let me tell him for a second time, no, and give my reason. I was just tired and didn’t want to be inconvenienced. On the way home, the devil tried his best to bother me with condemning thoughts for not helping. He used scriptures such as, “ for what you’ve done to the least of them, you’ve done it to Jesus”. But I thank God  there is no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus. I’m glad I know that Jesus came into the world not to condemn, but to save. Thank God we have verses that instruct us to cast down imaginations and arguments that exalt themselves against the word of God. This is a word to anyone who has an ear to hear. Never be condemned about things like this if you simply were not feeling it. Maybe God knew the people were not right anyway. Guilt trips, don’t receive them.

Don’t Blow Your Credibility

by Admin

Transcript:

You can’t blow your credibility, that’s all you have. People are gonna look
at you and listen to you and that’s a power of influence, once you lose
that, nobody’s listening to you anymore. When you go to the court of law
and you have to stand up there and give some kind of account, the
prosecutor or the defense attorney is gonna track your history. They’re
gonna look at your record and see if there were some areas where you were
lying, where you stole, where you done something wrong. Because it’s all an
attack on your credibility. If your credibility is shot already, nobody’s
gonna believe you. You can’t prove to anybody that you’re true to whatever
you were contending for. It’s the same with the Word of God. You can’t be
hanging out at night clubs on Friday night and then up there leading praise
and worship on Sunday morning. You gotta be careful as to how the world
looks at you. Even though there might not be anything wrong with it, you
can’t laugh at certain jokes around people, because they’ll just shoot your
credibility.

Now if the Devil lies and uses people to lie on you, that’s another thing.
That will get taken care of. You don’t want to cause any problems yourself
to where you lose your credibility where nobody will listen to you. You
have no voice anymore, no influence anymore. Once you lose your influence
and your credibility, nobody wants to listen to you anymore. You’ve lied,
you’ve already been late eight times, they realize you’re not punctual,
you’ve lost your credibility. You’re unreliable, you’re always making
excused, you’re always procrastinating, you’ve lost your credibility. You
cannot afford to blow your credibility. It is vitally important that you’re
a man or woman of your word. Mean what you say and say what you mean. Your
integrity is vital to the influence that you have in people’s lives so I’m
here to tell you, “Don’t shoot your credibility.”

Don’t do the crazy, rebellious, stupid thing. Don’t cause babies to
stumble. Don’t cause the world to look at you with that shifty eye as if,
“I don’t know about this guy.” And you’re a Christian, and you’re one of
those who might be an usher or a deacon, you might be a ministry gift, you
might sing in the choir, it doesn’t matter what level or where you operate,
you might be a door keeper in the House of God. When people come in there
and they see that you’re somebody who just jipped the auto mechanic out of
some money or you just burned somebody down there at the Home Depot, or
you’ve done something wrong and the whole public knows about it, you’ve
blown your credibility and you’re not a good witness. It’s important that
you maintain a proper level of integrity and credibility. Don’t blow your
credibility.

The Good Life

by Admin

God has prearranged and made ready for us to live “the good life” (Eph. 2:10 amp). The good life is granted to us by faith. It is a life that we can live by exacting the blessing of Abraham.  Them that are of faith are blessed with Abraham. It is a life we can have by keeping the proper perspective. It is a life that was purchased for us by the blood of Jesus. In order to live the good life, you must do away with “drama kings and queens” in your life. Drama kings and queens are men and women who are messy and always have issues with baby daddies or mamas. They can’t manage their time and will drain you of yours. Rise up and sit on your balcony or patio in the morning taking in the fresh rising sun. Have a cup of white tea with honey, sip it slowly, enjoy it as you listen to your worship music on your Bose system. Invite a cool person to lunch at a nice restaurant. Order something you always wanted. Order off the left side of the menu only, don’t worry about the cost, have some money. On hot days be sure to use your air conditioner. God didn’t bless you with that nice house to sit and be miserably hot in it. If you don’t recognize the number, don’t bother answering the phone. Go sit by the marina, think nice thoughts, thank God for His awesome creation. Are you over fifty? Play the Delfonics or the Dramatics in your car stereo as you cruise around your city streets on a Sunday afternoon, after having gone to church and had dinner. A butter pecan ice cream cone might just hit the spot right now. It’s a wonderful life. Enjoy it!

Are You A Threat To The Devil?

by Admin

Transcript:

Are you a threat to the devil? That’s the question. Just like the
rattlesnake slivers his little cowardly self up to the eagle’s nest, he
goes after the baby eagle. He won’t mess with the full-grown one because he
knows that the full-grown eagle is the snake’s worst nemesis. Same way the
kingdom of darkness works. The devil goes after the babies. So many baby
Christians come after being saved, a couple of months or a couple of years,
they come wondering why they’re being harassed so much or why there is so
much going on in their life. They’ve got confusion, no peace, chaos
everywhere. I would tell them just like I would tell you, you’re a threat,
that’s what’s happening. The devil knows if you grow up, you’re going to
crush his head. That’s what’s going to happen. If you grow in the grace and
knowledge of God and keep standing on the word of God, you’re going to be a
big threat to that kingdom of darkness.

So what does he try to do? He comes after you when you’re just a baby. He
tries to discourage you, demoralize you, kick you out of the game, destroy
you, send you back to drugs and alcohol, illness, and everything immoral.
He wants to send you back to that life so that you won’t be of any effect
to the kingdom of God. That’s the reason that you are a threat. That’s an
opportunity. You need to praise God. If the devil is not messing with you,
if he doesn’t have any concern about you, that means you’re not doing
anything.

If there are any of you who the devil is not bothering, if there is never a
challenge of anything in your life, you get everything handed to you
easily, it’s probably because you’re not doing anything. You need to get on
your horse. We throw some jabs out there, we’re going to get some jabs
thrown back at us. Understand, you are a threat to the kingdom of darkness.
That’s why they are after you, all the demons and hobgoblins are coming
after you. All you have to do is stand strong, keep on growing, because we
win. We triumph over all things through Christ Jesus. The devil lost. Let
that rascal know, ‘The blood of Jesus is against you, you have no
authority, you have no power.’ God has given us the authority to trample
upon serpents, scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing
shall by any means hurt us. We are the kings, we are the champions. We’re
more than conquerors. We’re on top and rising. We’re the people of God and
we win.

You let that rascal know the next time he comes up against you, trying to
mess with you, trying to harass you, trying to drive you back to your
worldly ways of doing things, let him know, ‘Devil, I’ve given my life to
the Lord Jesus. I’m serving God. I resist you, I submit to God, therefore
it is written you must flee right now,’ or bind him in the name of Jesus.
The reason, again, you are a threat to the devil. If he’s not bothering
you, you might not be a threat.

You want to ask yourself that question: Are you a threat to the devil?

There’s Something Better Than Going To Heaven

by Admin

What could be better than going to heaven? Believers have a ministry of reconciliation. The great commission is to go into all the world and preach the gospel. Have you ever won a soul to Christ by sharing your testimony and offering the plan of salvation? The greatest, most comforting source of fulfillment is discovering and operating in your primary purpose. That purpose is to win souls. God wishes that none perish, but all would come to repentance. Jesus came to seek and to save that which is lost. Allowing God to use you to draw others near to Him, either through your verbal witness or your life itself is the most rewarding of all expectations in this life. Imagine, you were the one responsible for bringing your mom, dad, and entire family to the Lord. Imagine, tens, hundreds and even thousands walking the streets of gold, like transparent glass. Observe those you witnessed to experiencing the twelve gates of pearl, the rubies, diamonds, the onyx stone, the wall of jasper, the emerald, the sardonyx, topaz, beryl, the chrysoprase and the amethyst. Imagine, they all were able to behold Jesus face to face in all of His glory as a result of your witness. Yes, there is something better than going to heaven, that’s taking somebody with you.
