Gender Discrimination: Holiness Is Not Partial

by Admin

If a Christian woman is physically fit enough to wear a two piece bathing suit, minus the excess body fat, she’s deserves an applause. Legalistic folks condemn this attire.  My first thought is, what do you wear at the beach then, an overcoat? Often women are judged regarding holiness, yet there is not the same standard for men. Why is a women judged for her bathing suit and nobody says anything about the man and his “speedos”? Why is a woman considered a Jezebel for wearing make-up, fancy shoes and fitted attire, when the man looks like  “Mack–Daddy” with his pinstripes, alligators, polished nails, slicked hair and bling bling? Women’s problems of watching soap operas and reading romance novels are microscopic in comparison to men and pornography. She’s sometimes not considered a good mother when she wants to leave the kids with grandma and go out, but where is Dad. They wanted to stone the woman caught in adultery as if she was the only one at fault. Rahab is infamous for being a harlot, but harlotry ceases to exist without whoremongers. So many women feel so bad, defeated and discouraged about their weight, yet there’s gross obesity in the men from preacher to the doorkeeper, having no conviction whatsoever about their own lack of discipline. Women have their “pms” thing monthly. What is it that the men have? Some brothers really be trippin’, anytime of the month. This is simply an observation. Just sayin……….

When Fathers Play Catch

by Admin

The little things are often the most meaningful in parental relationships, especially among fathers and their sons. The few times on the bank or pier casting the fishing lines in the water, will never be forgotten in a young man’s life. The time under the hood of his first car, showing him where the fuel filter or spark plugs were, only took a minute but lasted a lifetime. Sometime men wait for a big day or some big event to take their son to, but to a young boy, the event doesn’t matter. All that matters is, Dad was with me. A slurpee, an ice cream cone, a soda after baseball practice makes for creating the best of memories. Grown men today still starve for a father. Field of Dreams was a classic. Kevin Costner’s character’s biggest longing was simply to play catch with his Dad. Fathers, get out the old gloves, loosen up and play catch. A great investment takes place, when fathers play catch.

God Wants “You”, Not Your Performance

by Admin

The difference between religion and Christianity is, religion is about performing, where Christianity is a relationship. Man created religion, which entails a list of do’s and don’ts. God created mankind for fellowship, not that He was bored and needed company, He is loving and wanted to share. Many are steadily working, trying to please God. God was/is pleased when you received His son Jesus. The middle wall of partition between God and us has been rent into from top to bottom. Now anyone can come unto the throne of grace for mercy and grace to help in our time of need. Lighten up! It’s not that deep. Talk to Him. Get acquainted with Him. In the same manner you begin a newfound relationship with someone, call God and talk to Him regularly. Practice listening to your heart for direction and insight. When you read the bible your spirit will confirm the truth. Don’t worry about your sin, whether you’re good enough for God. The blood of Jesus has made you worthy to be adopted into the family of the beloved of God. If you drink, cheat, chase, lie, steal, etc., trust me, by having an intimate relationship with God, the desires will begin to dissipate away. Because God is so good and loving, His goodness will bring about your repentance and you wouldn’t want to do those things anymore.  God wants you, not your performance.

Integrity……Protect Yours

by Admin

Integrity is simply having your mind made up to do right and adhering to it. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. At any temptation or persuasion the double minded man will go with whatever feels good, not considering facts that his integrity is in question. The Apostle Paul spoke to the Thessalonians in regards to avoiding every form of evil, but even the slightest appearance of evil we must avoid, if we want to eliminate speculation about our character.  When people begin speculating, they start accusing. A man or woman who cares about their image, integrity or dignity should always beware of traps the enemy sets to discredit their reputation and tear them down to where their lives are no longer effective or impacting upon anyone. As a man, husband, minister, manager, leader, it’s not a good showing to have only women friends on Facebook. A man in these positions can’t go to lunch every day with a married or unmarried woman, it leaves room for too much speculation. A Christian man can’t be at a woman church member’s house at 10:00 at night claiming to be over for a bible study or prayer. Although in the aforementioned scenarios there’s total innocence (wink, wink), the point is to avoid even the appearance of evil. Our integrity is all we have. We must guard it with our lives.

Punctuality, A Key To Professionalism

by Admin

It was once referred to as “CP’ time. That’s colored people time. Sad! If an event was scheduled to begin at 3:30pm, sometimes it didn’t begin until 4:30, 5:00 or later. Many Black churches, not all, have become notorious for this gross character flaw. This attribute trickles down into many people’s personal affairs also, such as jobs and relationships. I say Black churches because of my own experience. I’m sure other ethnic groups can lack excellence in this area as well. Daniel chapters 5 and 6 speak toward his being promoted due to having an excellent spirit. Most professionals in the business world operate with a degree of excellence, because excellence brings promotion. High standards are impressive, admirable and encouraging. People who don’t respect or value your time have little or no respect for you. Leaders in ministry should never allow the people to train them by waiting until enough people come. The leader should train the people and honor their own commitment to the time a meeting, event or service begins and start even if only one person is there. If there’s an office appointment and the individual is 20 minutes late (a second time) and has not called, leave.  I’ve seen many miss the blessing of God by coming to a 10:00 worship service at 11:15. God is checking our faithfulness to our own times set.

The Problem’s Not The Problem, You Are

by Admin

Transcript:

You know our plight is to be confirmed to the image and likeness of Christ.
That’s Romans 8:29. It tells us that. Galatians 2:20 says that we’ve been
crucified with Christ. It’s no longer us who live, but Christ lives in us.
Scripture after scripture, Matthew 10 tells us to deny ourselves to take
the cross, follow him. First Corinthians 15 says I die daily. And all
these passages allude to, you know, John the Baptist said, ‘I must
decrease, he must increase.’ What they all allude to is simply that we must
get out the way and let Jesus be fully formed in us.

That’s why I’m talking about now. The problem is not the problem. We’re
the problem. And see after you’ve been married for 20 years and you’re
wife still, still hangs the towel the wrong way or your husband still doing
the same thing. Somebody said, Pastor, why am I so mad all the time? He
makes me so angry. But you’ve been married 23 years and he’s still making
you angry. He’s not the problem anymore; you’re the problem.

You need Jesus. It’s just a showing that you lack Christ in your life. You
know with Christ in us it’s the only hope of glory and that’s where a lot
of people are missing it. Look, whether you live or die you’re going to
have those bills on the table, the cell phone bill, this insurance bill,
sometimes the IRS and different people coming after you. It’s up to you to
know how to deal with it. So, that’s where you need Christ. The problem’s
not the problem. You’re the problem. You need Jesus. That’s the issue.

And you know, people don’t understand. The stone that the builders
rejected is the chief cornerstone. So you’re rejecting Christ in your
life, he is the one that enables you. He said take my yoke. My yoke is
easy, my burden is light. You know, don’t be carrying all that weight
yourself. So die to self. Now if you could die, simply die to your
soulish ambitions and selfish desires and let him rise up and your nothing
will bother you, won’t trip you, won’t be sweating and troubled about
stuff.

Children of Israel saw those giants and they cried and wept all night and
Numbers chapter 14 and you can weep all night long and get up the next
morning, the giants are still there. That’s the deal. So crying doesn’t
help, worrying doesn’t help, Everything is still going to be there and what
I’m saying is. The problem’s not the problem. You’re the problem. You
need Jesus. If your husband’s still ornery, your wife’s still rebellious,
and it’s been 15, 20, 25 years, and it still bothers you? They’re not the
problem anymore. Don’t complain. You need Jesus. The problem’s not the
problem, you are.

Did having a Black President help Black people?

by Admin

Chime in! Some say it proved that anything is possible in that a race can come from recent slavery and rise to leading the nation. Some say it gave many Blacks a boost of confidence and self-esteem. Some say our black president is simply a politician with charisma who was “selected” to be a puppet and not really “elected” by the public. Some say unemployment is worse, gas prices are higher than with the former administration and black on black crime has escalated. Did having a black president, help black people? Write back. What do you say?

These Are The Last Seconds

by Admin

The book of Daniel speaks toward the end times. In chapter 12 a statement is made that knowledge will increase in the last days. For nearly 6,000 years man transported himself by way of horse, mule and buggy. Now, within the last 100 years we’ve not only benefitted from the invention of the automobile, but we’ve flown airplanes and even sent rockets to the moon and various other places of outer space. Satellites for communications and tracking are ruling the airways. Submarines are touching the bottom of the ocean. At one time only the rich and super rich had telephones in their cars, now kids in the projects are walking around with cell phones in their pockets. During the civil war the soldiers stuffed muskets to shoot, and if time didn’t permit they would have to use the bayonet on the rifle for their alternate defense. We’re successfully separating Siamese twins, performing heart transplants and have developed weaponry that would destroy all of creation. In spite of what the scientists say about humans existing some 50 million years, from Adam to Moses was an estimated 2,000 years. From Moses to Jesus was another 2,000 years. From Jesus to now is another 2,000 years. These timelines are listed clearly in the holy bible. All of this advancement has occurred within the last 100 years. We’re not in the last days, these are the last seconds. No one knows exactly when, but Jesus is coming soon. Be ready!

The Origin of An Eagle Couple

by Admin

Transcript:

Isaiah Chapter 40, Verse 31 says those that wait on the Lord shall renew
their strength, no mount of wing of eagles, They’ll run and not grow weary.
They’ll walk and shall not faint, and I just know that the eagle is an
interesting and awesome specimen. Eagles, they can fly 2-300 miles an hour.
They’ll get high up in the sky. They can swoop down on a squirrel in full
stride and lock their talons on them, hit the water and lock their talons
on a salmon and pull him out of the water. Eagles have been known to attack
a buck deer, the size of a mid-sized car and will lift them up off the
ground.

An eagle is awesome, but I’d like to just get in the aspect of how the
woman eagle catches her man. This is so interesting. I don’t know if you
heard it before but hear it again. It’ll be good for all you women watching
this here. The woman eagle, when the man decides to flirt with her, what
she does is go so high in the sky, 500 or so feet in the sky, and she’ll
drop a stick. If he wants her, he has to catch the stick before it hits the
ground. And so, she gets up so high in the sky. She says, OK, if you want
me, you have got to catch the stick. Well then, she drops it and he swoops
down and catches the stick before it hits the ground, brings it back to
her, and he says, can I have you now?

She says, no, the test is not over yet. I’ve got to go a little bit higher.
So, she goes another 3-400 feet up higher, so 900 to 1,000 feet. She drops
a stick, a little bit heavier stick this time. She says, if you want me,
you’ve got to catch the stick before it hits the ground and then bring it
back to me. And so, once she drops the stick, he says, I’ve got it and
plays around because he thinks he’s all that. He plays around for a little
bit, and then he does that nose dive and he catches the stick before it
hits the ground, brings it back to her. And then, she says, OK, one more
test.

So, she gets a big stick, just as heavy as she is, and she drops the stick,
and they’re higher this time, some 1500 feet up, and then she drops it. The
man eagle, he swoops down, he catches the stick, brings it her and then
there’s a celebration right there. They began this circular motion, just
clucking and carrying on. They’re celebrating. OK, he’s hers and she’s his
and so forth. So, they’re happy.

And then, what happens when they begin to have little baby eaglets, the
father, when it’s time to teach his little son, little junior, how to fly.
What mom does is she says, “OK, it’s time to learn how to fly. I’m going to
kick you out of the nest, but I want you to watch your dad.” You see, dad
is up in the sky. He’s just got his wings open. He’s just soaring and
letting the wind get underneath his wings.

And so, she kicks him out and she says, OK, now flap your wings, and the
father is watching the son. He’s like, come on, son, just hit it one time,
let the wind get underneath your wings. Come on, stop flapping so hard like
a chippy bird. Come on just one time, son. Do it, do it. And so, he says,
my son’s in trouble. So, he does that nose dive. He swoops down to the
ground, and he catches the son before he hits the ground, and he brings him
back up to the nest. Then, the woman eagle says, see, that’s why I married
you. You knew how to take care of my kids.

Why, Christians?

by Admin

Why can’t some Christians see that tithing our money to the work of God is a valid practice? Why can’t some Christians see that you don’t have to tithe? Why can’t some Christians see that speaking in tongues is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit and needful? Why can’t some Christians see that they don’t need to speak in tongues? Why do some say music should not be played in church? Why do some play music? Why do some think water baptism in Jesus’ name is the only way to be saved? Why do some baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit? Why do some think women can’t preach? Why do so many women preach?

The Best Investment

by Admin

People often make statements about how bad things are, or how the world thinks; yet some of the same people never do anything to remedy any of society’s ills. Some bad people don’t want to hear what’s right and are adamant about perpetuating evil. But most reasonable and sensible people will give an ear to someone who cares, to invest their time with them and share a word of encouragement or advice.  We’ve seen great leaps toward advancement in technology and the sciences. We can thank God for all of the conveniences we have today, but people are our biggest priority. What we do for people, we do unto God. This is specifically in regards to the heart and frame of reference of people. If we take time to share our knowledge and experiences with anyone who appears to be less fortunate or less experienced, we will advance society. That one individual you reach could be the one who affected a whole city for righteousness sake. This type of investment is not done with hidden motives or for selfish gain; it’s done for the advancement of the good of mankind. The most gratifying and rewarding thing one can do, is invest in somebody’s life. The best investment is the investment in people. Help. Share.

Helpful Lines For Valentines

by Admin

Men! You might not need any help in this area, but I’ve been at points in my relationship where I drew nothing but blanks as to what to do for Valentines Day. Spend some serious money toward a nice dinner at a high-class restaurant. Touch her hand, look into her eyes and tell her “when I call your name at night, I hear the stars begin to applaud”. Let her know “tonight I give you a standing ovation”. Write a poem, sing a song. Tell her, “Your lips put me in a trance”. Let her know you really didn’t want to eat, but just came here to “be with you”. A sweet surprise, something special can do wonders as well. Cook a meal, serve it by candle light, put on some “Luther”, “if this world were mine”. Give a toast to all the fools who let her go. Go pay her hairdresser with your personal stash before she gets there. Go to the nail salon and pay for 3 months of mani’s and pedi’s. Let her initiate the romance, now that she’s ready. Have a happy Valentine’s Day.

Always Praise Him First

by Admin

So often believers come before God with their problems, questions and requests. In Hebrews chapter 8 we find the writer reminding us of God telling Moses to make the tabernacle exactly according to the blue print he was shown on the mountain. The tabernacle is a copy of the true and everything about the tabernacle has spiritual significance and if we study we could learn what all the materials, colors, artifacts, furniture and numbers mean. God’s presence dwelt in the holy of Holies, which was the priest’s final destination. Yet there was a gate out front and a courtyard. Psalms 100 says, “enter His courts with praise and His gates with thanksgiving”. By this we can see that in our approach to God we should always come praising Him first. Praising Him proves our faith and that we believe He is everything He said and can do everything He says. Crying and worrying does not demonstrate any faith whatsoever in an approach to God. The book of Judges speaks of the children of Israel going out to fight their brother Benjamin. They inquired of God as to what tribe should go up first to fight, God said, “send Judah”. Judah means praise. Before you go to battle, praise Him. Always begin with praise.

Measuring Success

by Admin

How do you measure success? Is it by how much money you have? How popular you’ve become? How great your social status is? How much education and degrees you’ve acquired?

If what I mentioned are your goals, fine. But never allow anyone else to put the pressure of what they consider success on you. Set your own goals. Everyone will not be the academic elite. Most will not be famous or even Mr. or Miss. Popularity. God has graced all of us with a vocation, innate gifts, skills and talents. We were created for His good pleasure, not the world’s. Find the thing you love to do. Find the thing you get the most pleasure from doing. What is it that you love so much that you would do it for free? That’s probably one of your primary purposes. Then do it! If you can make a living from it, praise God! If not, do it for your own satisfaction. Success is improving, increasing, growing and being effective at what God call and created “YOU” to do. And do all to the glory of God.

Declare who YOU are!

by Admin

Transcript:

God told us who we are, and sometimes people let their uncles tell them,
their neighborhood, their environment and all the people that are raised up
around school teachers and coaches and so forth would place images and
stigmas and plagues attached to people and they go around their life
listening to that and hearing that and that’s what they see themselves, or
what image they see themselves in, but we need to see ourselves in an image
that God told us we are.

If you’re going through anything today, just hear what I’m about to share
with you. Let me tell you who God said you are. You are a chosen
generation. You’re a holy nation, you’re God’s own special treasure. You’re
peculiar people. You’re brought from darkness to God’s marvelous light.
He loves you and he cares for you. You are blessed coming in, you’re
blessed going out, your food, your drink, your kneading bowl, your basket,
the fruit in your womb and everything you set your hand to.

God has commanded by blessing up on it, and this is what you want to tell
yourself, that you are the head only and not the tail, you’re above only
and not beneath. And so you don’t have to listen to anymore to what uncle
said or sister said or somebody else telling you. Because a lot of people
don’t know who they are, but in the word of God, he told us who we are.
He’s given us exceedingly great and precious promises whereby we can be
come partakers of the divine nature, and you triumph over all things
through Christ Jesus, we are the victor and not the victim, the victory
that caused us to overcome the world as our fate, we overcame the Devil by
the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony.

You are a champion. You are a king and a priest, you are more than a
conqueror, and God loves you, and we love him because he first loved us,
and I just want to submit to you in this hour. A man’s appetite is
satisfied by the fruit of his mouth and with the increase of his lips he is
filled, and you have what you say, so whatsoever you desire when you pray,
you believe, you receive it and you shall have it, and you praise the Lord,
and you thank God no matter what. If it looks bad, if it looks good, it
doesn’t matter, you just keep praising God and thanking him because he
loves you and he cares for you, and you just decree, decree a thing as Job
22:28 says, “And it’ll be established for you and the light of God’s favor
shall shine upon your ways.”

So you just be encouraged. The next time you feel bad, you feel
demoralized or discouraged about something, you just start talking to
yourself, you say, ‘No, no, no. I’m a champion; I’m a king and a priest.
I’m more than a conqueror. I’m the victor and I’m not the victim. I’m
God’s own special treasure,’ and those are things you tell yourself,
because your satisfied by the food of your mouth. And with the increase of
your lips, you are filled, it is awesome to know who you are in God’s eyes.
You’re blessed with faithful Abraham, you have the abundance of increase
in favor, you are highly favored in the sight of God. So you take that to
heart, and the next time the Devil tries to speak to you or anything
opposite or what I’m sharing with you, you just tell him what thus said the
Lord, in Jesus’ name.
